What makes marble so popular?
Marble is a metamorphic stone formed from limestone under high pressure and temperature. Its expressive veining and depth make every slab unique — which is why marble remains one of the most sought-after materials for floors, walls, bathrooms, and decorative elements.
What to consider before choosing marble
- Porosity. Marble is relatively soft and porous, so it needs regular sealing to prevent staining.
- Where it will be used. High-traffic areas (like kitchen worktops) can wear marble down faster — granite is often a better fit there.
- Color and veining. Calacatta, Carrara, Statuario, Nero Marquina, Emperador, and Arabescato are among the most requested varieties, each with its own character.
- Supplier reliability. Quality and batch consistency vary significantly between quarries — work with a supplier who can show samples before you commit.
Caring for marble long-term
To keep marble looking its best for years:
- Reseal the surface every 6–12 months.
- Wipe up acidic substances immediately (citrus juice, wine, vinegar).
- Use pH-neutral cleaning products only.
