Two popular stones — but not the same
Granite and marble are often mentioned in the same breath, but geologically they're completely different materials with very different properties.
Granite
Granite is an igneous stone with very high hardness and resistance to scratches, heat, and moisture. It's one of the most practical natural stones — commonly used for kitchen worktops, stairs, and exterior finishes. Granite has a granular structure and a wide color range (Absolute Black, Baltic Brown, Kashmir White, Blue Pearl, Black Galaxy), and needs minimal maintenance.
Marble
Marble is more expressive, with striking veining, but it's softer and more porous than granite. It looks fantastic in interiors, but high-traffic or wet areas call for more frequent sealing and care.

Our recommendation
If you want durability with minimal upkeep, go with granite. If aesthetics come first and you don't mind the extra care, marble is a great fit. Many clients combine both: granite in practical zones, marble as an accent.
